Well done to all the children – the stories are finished in draft form so, after half term we will get the printing process under way. Hopefully, the books should be ready to share in Week 2 – I’ll let you know.
In Maths, Year 5 have continued to consolidate their understanding of fractions and Year 6 have been introduced to the ‘delights’ of algebra. Year 6 need to use the break to practise times tables and keep up to date with the diagnostic tests.
Letters about our overnight trip to Chichester should have come home tonight. It would be easier if you could try to sort the ‘earlier than 8am’ pick ups between yourselves.
On Tuesday 20th February there will be a training session for those children who have been selected for the swimming gala. I have kept children, as far as possible, in their right year group for individual events. This will give them a fair chance to excel. The relay teams will be selected by identifying the fastest swimmers, irrespective of year group.
Good luck to the hockey squad, who are off to the partnership finals on February 28th. The tag rugby competition will be on March 1st and I know there are many children keen to take part. I would recommend watching some of the Six Nations to get some tips!
As promised, there are no spellings or homework tasks set this week. Let’s hope the weather is kind, and we can all get out and about. Many thanks for your continued support; it is much appreciated. Enjoy the ‘break’ and I look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 19th.
